Boatshop Philippines has developed a class of tropical cruising catamarans we call the Visayan (vi sie' yun) series, named after this friendly region of the central Philippines. These include superb sailing catamarans suitable for personal or charter purposes at 32, 36, 40, 44, and 50 feet, and our power only Voyager design at 42 feet.

The Visayan catamarans have been designed from their keels up as practical, durable, low maintenance, live-aboard or load carrying boats with primary emphasis on comfortable accommodation rather than all-out performance. These designs share a number of common features which optimize the boats for maximum enjoyment of tropical cruising conditions with generous ventilation, very large deck areas, and simple light-air friendly sail plans.

All of the designs may be substantially customized internally and externally to fit the owner's specific preferences. As custom builders, we work closely and continuously with our clients throughout the entire project to meet their specific requirements. We are a small company and take pride in our ability to maintain a pleasurable stream of communication with our clients before, during, and after the projects we build for them. We are accustomed to accommodating client requests at any time in a project.

All of the Visayan designs are built from economical, rugged, vacuum-laminated wood/epoxy hulls fabricated on the same simple Constant Camber™ mold. Well-known American multihull designer Jim Brown of Searunner Associates, originally developed the Constant Camber technology. This simple patented system permits efficient fabrication of high quality yacht or working boat hulls from tightly laminated wood veneer and epoxy resin. After the basic hull moldings are completed, they are carefully assembled and finished using the best of modern wood/epoxy construction methods by our experienced and closely supervised Asian craftsmen. Be sure to read our FAQ section for more details about our business practices.

As a bonus the Philippines offers some exceptional cruising in protected tropical waters while becoming familiar with the new boat.
