| Visayan 36' Catamaran
(V11) |
 |
 |
Designer: Mike Allen
The Visayan 11 carries enough hull
length and interior accomodation to be seriously considered as
a true live-aboard cruising catamaran for those on a budget or
just not wanting the cost and effort required to manage a bigger
boat. A fully battened mainsail on a shop-built rotating wingmast
will provide excellent sailing performance with a modestly sized
and economical sailplan. The spinnaker and screecher sails shown
may be considered optional, but are recommended as they significantly
enhance sailing performance in typical tropical light-air conditions.
A fabric bimini shelter (not shown
on the drawings but as seen here) over the helm station and deck
seating will keep the helmsman and crew in the shade while underway,
and a larger boom awning can cover almost all the aft deck at
anchor. All the standard Visayan features are in place on the
Visayan 11 for comfortable tropical cruising. Minimally outfitted
or fully loaded, the Visayan 11 will take you cruising wherever
you wish to go.
