Visayan Banka 50' (Tunkil)

Another of our big bankas, but
built with two walk-in refrigerated holds to carry perishables
to the owner's remote island resort. The freestanding spritsails
were intended to be auxiliary power to the locally marinized 6
cylinder diesel. After a couple of unprofitable years hauling
veggies, and an unfortunate encounter with a coral reef, the boat
was returned to us for rebuilding and converted into a dive charter/ferry
arrangement and is seeing daily use ferrying tourists to one of
the Philippines most exotic resorts. (CC project #8)
