Block Island 40' (Jane)

Designer: William H. Tripp Jr. (1957)

JANE is a Block Island 40 built in 1965. Knowledgeable sailors recognize this as one of the most successful boats of its size and for very good reasons. This is the early center-cockpit design with a spacious and comfortable stern cabin, accessible by interior passageway from the main cabin. The yawl rig keeps individual sail sizes smaller for short-handed sailing. This boat has recently been carefully restored by professional carpenters and painters to bring her back to excellent condition. The boat has not been sailed for some time, and some attention to updating the equipment inventory will be required, but where can you buy a bare hull for the price of this yacht almost ready for a long passage.
